"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." Matthew 6:33 |
“Behold, the Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear: And he saw that there was no man, and wondered that there was no intercessor: therefore his arm brought salvation unto him; and his righteousness, it sustained him. So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and his glory from the rising of the sun. When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. And the Redeemer shall come to Zion, and unto them that turn from transgression in Jacob, saith the Lord. As for me, this is my covenant with them, saith the Lord; My spirit that is upon thee, and my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed's seed, saith the Lord, from henceforth and for ever.” Isaiah 59:1, 16, 19-21 KJV There is one gift given by the creator before we even exit the womb: our family. Whether you come from a large family or a small one, whether you have siblings or not; I guarantee you that your loved ones need your prayers. Today, we have been given a promise from Isaiah about our family. Isaiah started this chapter of reminding us of who we are dealing with. 59:1 says that God's hand is not short that it cannot save us. By the end of the chapter Isaiah is declaring the ways that the hand of God will rest on our families.
If you're like me, you have some loved ones that you are praying would come to know Christ, or that you see need God's healing hand. This passage helped me to be reminded that God's hand can reach them just like it reaches me. God is not in heaven trying to stretch to reach us. It is no toil for him to see where we are and intervene. As we widen our faith in God's ability in our own life, we have to extend that belief to the lives of those that surround us. Verse one in Isaiah continues on to say that God's ear isn't too heavy to hear us. How fitting to remind us to be in prayer concerning the cares of our loved ones? It is my hope that in embarking on this journey that we can be the voices crying to God for what he has laid on our hearts. I pray that when God wonders for an inteccessor in our homes that we are found in the place of need. Your prayers for your family are not only heard but they are a part of God's plan. God directs us to "Pray without ceasing" in 1 Thessalonians 5:17. And we aren't supposed to be praying for ourselves that whole time. We are to be praying for our family, our city, our nation, and the Kingdom of God all over the earth. Do you feel burdened to pray for your loved one? Have you been praying and it feels like nothing's happening? Don't get weary. The scripture says that God's ear isn't heavy, meaning you have not worn him out with your prayers. There aren't too many people speaking to him that he can't continue to hear your prayer. The all-knowing, all-powerful, ever present God he hears you. Keep that in mind when the enemy begins to fill you with doubt. Keep God's command in Thessalonians in mind when you feel like you have been praying too long. And when you are in a place of extreme worry focus on verses Isaiah 59:19-21. God seals the deal with a dynamic promise! He declares that he will 1.) Set up a standard against the enemy. 2.)Your seed, your seed's seed will have the word of God on their lips. Every sibling you have is included because they are a part of the blessing that brought you into the marvelous light. Your nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles they are included in the promise. Begin to speak the word over your home. Begin to trust the Lord's saying that he will set up a standard. Start trusting the standard of the Lord over your home even in the face of rebellion, sickness and strife. You will walk in peace because you are the intercessor that the Lord wondered for in your family and Christ is the redeemer that has come to deliver your loved ones out. Speak the word over your family. Love them with less restraint and more compassion. Be more forgiving to the people in your life. Your faith in Christ has freed you to have the unconditional love of God towards your loved ones. Prayer: Father, I am in awe of the promises you give us in your word. Thank you for caring about the things that concern me, including my loved ones. Lord they are your children just as I am yours. I trust that you will draw, heal and deliver them just as you have done for me. Forgive me for speaking my thoughts over them instead of speaking your word. Give me the wisdom to know what to say, when to say it and how to say it. If you lead me I know the outcome for my loved one and for me will lead to the best results. I trust you today God. I believe in the standard you have set against the enemy. And I receive the promise that my children and their children will know you the more.
